There was a Greek named Oedipus
Soon to have a sorry exodus
There was a plague in the city
And it wasn't very pretty
Jocasta his mother and lauis his father
Gave him away not to be bothered
The baby Oedipus
The servant unhappy that's were he's sent
After his father pinned his feet
He was put on top of the mountain peek
merope was his new dad
After visiting the oracle he was very sad Polybus was his new mom
And the news Dropped on him like a bomb
Oedipus took a crossroad of dirt
Because of the news he was very hurt
Killing Lauis that he didn't know
Not realizing it would hurt him so
Reaching the Sphinx with a riddle to solve
Never knowing he would be so involved
Solving the riddle becoming king
Made everyone happy wanting to sing
After conquering the palace of Thebes
Reaching another riddle not very pleased
The king named Oedipus Rex
Married his mother and had a lot of sex
Oedipus is accusing Creon of being mad
Which made jocasta very sad
Confused Creon is trying to explain
Trying to keep Oedipus contained
The servant came back
And seen Oedipus the leader of the pack
Oedipus didn't want to be Ithmus King
Making the people not wanting to sing
Oedipus found out his mom is his wife
So he cut his eyes out with a knife
Oedipus left his kids to stay
While he went far far away
